Know someone who deserves special recognition for their service to our school community?  Honorary Service Awards are presented each year in April to members of our community who have gone above and beyond in service to our school and its families.  The award ceremony is in March or April, but you can fill out the survey any time of year.

¿Conoce a alguien que merezca un reconocimiento especial por su servicio a nuestra comunidad escolar? Los Premios al Servicio Honorario se entregan cada año en abril a los miembros de nuestra comunidad que han ido más allá en el servicio a nuestra escuela y sus familias. La ceremonia de premiación es en marzo o abril, pero puedes completar la encuesta en cualquier época del año.

Congratulations to the 2023-2024 Honorary Service Award recipients!


Elizabeth Rios, Very Special Person Award
In addition to being a dedicated school librarian Ms. Rios works with the PTA and is currently PTA treasurer.  Her positive attitude and willingness to help wherever it’s needed are assets to our community. 


Tulia Gonzalez, Honorary Service Award
Tulia is PTA historian and a frequent volunteer on the Washington Elementary Campus.  Her creativity and hard work have enhanced all of PTA’s activities this year.  She was event chair for Red Ribbon Week and the Winter Festival and she contributed her crafting and artistic talents to many other events as well. 

 Mrs. Jennings, Outstanding Teacher Award
Not only has Mrs. Jennings been teaching at Washington for 22 years and teaching TK for the last 8 years, but she also attended elementary school at Washington herself and graduated from Bellflower HS.  She never hesitates to help out and give input and is well loved by her students and their families.
